Lydia Carter was a young Osage girl caught in the crossfire between U.S. expansionist policies and white supremacist ideals. Her tragedy is told in two different ways, where one doesn't present itself as a tragedy at all. This website aims to explore the differences in these narratives, and how one is a product of propaganda and fabrication to encourage the erasure of Indigenous culture and history.
